TabletPCs: more machines in SaX2

Today I added again some more TabletPCs to SaX2. With my patches SaX2 and openSUSE now supports also these machines:
  • Gateway E-155C (thanks Ping Cheng for the data)
  • HP TC4400
  • LG C1
  • LG LT20 Tablet PC
  • Panasonic Toughbook CF-18
  • Toshiba Portégé M series Tablet PC
  • Toshiba Satellite R15/R20
  • Toshiba Tecra M series Tablet PC
You can get the update SaX2 package as always from here. Let me know if you have a machine which isn't listed yet (send your xorg.conf, lshal output and if needed also calibration data/info) and I add your device to the database.

I'm not really sure about the sax thingy or open suse.

I'm a Kubuntu user planning on purchasing a tablet pc very soon, Toshiba Portégé M700 more precisely. Hope this is useful upstream / going to kubuntu as well soon xD

Hmm, i googled about sax2 --> yast module for configuring x.org server.... so i guess it's not going to be useful to kubuntu? :-(

Great news, I switched to Kubuntu for tablet support after getting my new M700. Rotating the screen leaves the GUI frozen though. I'll submit you a bug report if there's a problem in OpenSuse.

@Dread Knight: No, SaX2 isn't a Yast module. It's a own tool to configure X. It's used on SUSE for ages and also free available (GPL/LGPL).
See: http://developer.berlios.de/projects/sax/

@Niall J Hewitt: I assume you get maybe problems with rotation under KDE3 since krandrtry don't support XRandR 1.2 correctly (at least on 11.0 IIRC).

But you can follow these instructions to work around:

Hello,
is it possible to have more mouse and keyboards added too ?
I'm using Logitech Cordless MX3200 (keyboard and mouse)and it is not completely recognised in openSUSE 11.
Two buttons of the mouse are missing, but much more for the keyboard. Do i need to bind all these buttons ?
Or is it possible to use a product already in Sax2 ?

Thanks ;-)

After adding your repository, and installing the x11-...-evtouch & sax2 updates, I can not get the touchscreen on a Panasonic CF-18 to work.
What is the best forum for discussing trouble-shooting?
